The Lagos State Police Command has granted bail to Pastor Paul Adefarasin, the Senior Pastor of House on the Rock, after questioning him over claims that he pointed a gun-like object at a content creator known as Yl_thecarguy.
The incident, which sparked outrage online, showed Pastor Adefarasin holding what many believed was a firearm during a roadside encounter with the content creator, who is popular for filming luxury cars in Lagos.
In a statement on Tuesday, the police confirmed that Pastor Adefarasin voluntarily reported to their headquarters in Ikeja for interrogation. The video that circulated widely on social media prompted public concern and calls for an investigation.

“No one is above the law. Pastor Paul Adefarasin has turned himself in at the Lagos State Police Command Headquarters, Ikeja, and is currently being interrogated by detectives,” the police stated.
Later that day, the police clarified that the object in question was not a firearm.
The police said, “What was recovered from him is a stun gun,” the police said. “It is a prohibited anti-riot device, not a lethal weapon or firearm.”
They added that investigations are still ongoing.
After the incident, Pastor Adefarasin expressed his feelings about the controversy, saying he was deeply shocked and hurt when he first saw the video.
“I’ll be candid with you. I was shocked. I was hurt. I am human,” he said.
He described the situation as both “hurtful and malicious,” but noted his trust in God to turn the situation around. “What the enemy means for evil, he works for good,” he added.
The police said they are continuing their investigation and will provide further updates when available.
