Pastor Paul Adefarasin, the founder of House on the Rock Church, has denied claims that he pointed a gun at a content creator in a viral video.
The short clip, which began trending on social media Friday, shows a black Range Rover slowing near a videographer known for filming luxury cars. As the car’s window rolls down, the content creator greets the pastor. Adefarasin appears to respond firmly while holding an object that many viewers thought looked like a gun. The videographer quickly apologises as the car drives away.
The video sparked strong reactions online, with many accusing the 62-year-old pastor of brandishing a firearm in public.

But in a statement posted on social media Saturday evening, Pastor Adefarasin cleared the air. He said the object in his hand was not a weapon and denied pointing anything at the content creator.
“You might be aware of a video which has been circulating on social media showing me in what some have misunderstood as brandishing a firearm. I want to assure you of this — that, that was certainly not a firearm, and at no point did I point such at anyone,” he said.
He described the situation as a case of “mischief” and said he would speak briefly about it during his church’s Sunday service.
Pastor Adefarasin’s statement aimed to calm the public and dismiss any fear or confusion caused by the video.
