Nigerian music star Davido is taking big steps to reconnect with his daughter, Imade, amid a legal battle with her mother, Sophia Momodu.
On Thursday, June 5, Davido proudly attended the end-of-year cultural event at Imade’s school, where she and her classmates celebrated their ethnic heritage. Imade, dressed in traditional Yoruba attire, proudly spoke about her hometown.
“I am from Ede in Osun State. We are conquerors in everything we do. My state is best in everything we do,” she said.
Davido cheered her on with joy during her performance, clearly showing his support and love.
After the school event, Davido and Imade went on a sushi date, marking their second public outing in the same week. Earlier, the singer joined his daughter to celebrate her 10th birthday at a party themed “Imade’s Enchanted Forest.”

The recent outings come as Davido and Sophia continue their court battle over Imade’s custody. Davido is asking the court for joint custody and unrestricted access to his daughter. In court documents, he claimed Sophia had blocked his efforts to be present in Imade’s life.
He said Sophia rejected his offer to provide a permanent home for them and instead insisted that he keep paying rent on a luxury apartment. Davido also said he had always met his financial responsibilities but had been denied regular access to his daughter.
Despite the legal tensions, Davido’s recent actions show he is working hard to remain involved in Imade’s life.
Davido reportedly told a close friend, “I just want to be there for my daughter. Family is everything.”
