The Saudi Arabian government is ready to fund Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen’s transfer to Al-Hilal in a deal worth up to €50 million, according to reports from Sky Sports Switzerland journalist, Sacha Tavolieri.
Osimhen, who currently plays for Napoli, is in advanced talks with Al-Hilal’s president, Fahad bin Nafel. He is expected to sign a three-year deal and earn up to €17.5 million per year, including bonuses.
“Personal terms are close to being reached between Osimhen and Fahad bin Nafel. But Al-Hilal cannot yet complete the transfer. The club is still waiting for the Saudi Ministry of Sports to release the required funds,” Tavolieri said.

The Saudi government’s “financial viability” committee must first approve the release of funds before Al-Hilal can officially approach Napoli to finalise the deal.
Despite the delay, all parties are confident the transfer will go through. Osimhen has told Al-Hilal he wants to join the Saudi Pro League champions.
This move marks a big turn in Osimhen’s transfer story. Earlier in the summer, he was linked to top European clubs such as Chelsea, Manchester United, and Juventus. However, his high wage demands reportedly made those deals difficult.
Foot Mercato reported that Osimhen began talks with Al-Hilal after being disappointed by Manchester United’s lack of strong interest.
The 26-year-old striker is still under contract with Napoli until 2026, with the Italian club having the option to extend it until 2027. But with Osimhen keen on a move and Al-Hilal’s government-backed financial support, a final agreement now seems likely.
