Popular and controversial cleric, Chukwuemeka Ohanaemere, widely known as Odumeje, has announced his intention to run for president in Nigeria. In a video that has sparked widespread reactions, Odumeje emphasized the need for a young and digital leader to take the country forward, vowing to bring modern development and a new way of life to Nigerians.
“We Need a Digital Leader, Not Old Cargoes”
In his video, Odumeje expressed confidence in his ability to lead the country into a technologically advanced future.
He declared, “We need a young leader in this country, and I think I am coming out. We need a young leader as a president, a digital leader, not old cargoes. I think I will come out, I will come out for president.”
He further assured Nigerians that he understands their needs and aspirations. “Are you ready for me? Odumeje for president? Are you ready for me? Because I know what you need. I know what you want,” he said.

Plans for a Digital Nigeria and “Citadel” Road
Odumeje also outlined part of his vision for the country, promising to introduce a modern, digital way of life.
He announced, “I want to construct a main road called Citadel for you. I want to give you a modern life, a digital life.”
However, he did not provide further details about his political agenda, nor did he disclose which party he plans to represent in the upcoming 2027 presidential elections.
