The family dispute surrounding the late singer Ilerioluwa Aloba, popularly known as Mohbad, has deepened as his wife, Omowunmi, accused his uncle, Ayodele Famuyiwa, of threatening her and her son, Liam.
Omowunmi raised the alarm in an Instagram post on Saturday, alleging that Famuyiwa had been bullying her for over 15 months and was determined to stop her son from inheriting Mohbad’s royalties.
“For over 15 months, you have bullied me. You have dragged my name through the mud. You have spoken the most awful things about me. You have cursed my son. You have threatened me,” she wrote.
She further alleged that Famuyiwa had publicly issued threats against her on social media and warned that he should be held responsible if anything happened to her or Liam.
“Now, you are on a TikTok platform openly threatening to harm me and my child,” she added.
Famuyiwa Denies Allegations
In response, Famuyiwa denied the claims, describing them as false and an attempt to misrepresent his stance. In a statement on Sunday, he insisted that he never threatened Omowunmi or her son.
“As an uncle to Mohbad, I want to categorically state that I have never bullied you or your son, as you have falsely claimed,” he stated.
According to Famuyiwa, his only concern was Omowunmi’s repeated claims that Mohbad’s father was fighting her over the late singer’s assets.
“What I have consistently said is that you should stop spreading the narrative that your father-in-law is fighting you and your son over Mohbad’s property,” he explained.

He emphasized that if a DNA test confirmed Liam as Mohbad’s biological son, then the child was entitled to his father’s estate.
“If a DNA test confirms that the child is Mohbad’s, then he is entitled to 100 per cent of his father’s property. However, if the DNA result proves otherwise, that does not automatically erase the child’s connection to Mohbad, but such matters will be addressed at the right time,” he added.
Famuyiwa also accused Omowunmi of falsely claiming in a media interview that he was a sick man looking for financial support and trying to rely on Mohbad’s wealth.
Unresolved Questions Surrounding Mohbad’s Death
Mohbad died on September 12, 2023, at the age of 27, under circumstances that remain unclear. His death sparked widespread controversy, with many demanding an investigation into the cause.
The singer, who was formerly signed to Marlian Music, a record label owned by Naira Marley, left the label in February 2022 amid reports of disagreements.
Following his death, the Lagos State Police Command launched a 13-man special investigation team on September 18, 2023, to probe the case. His body was exhumed on September 21, 2023, for an autopsy to determine the cause of death.
However, the autopsy result was declared inconclusive, leaving many questions unanswered about what really happened to the rising music star.
