The North-Central All Progressives Congress (APC) Forum has declared its full support for President Bola Tinubu and the party’s National Chairman, Abdullahi Ganduje. The forum announced this decision on Thursday after the APC National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting in Abuja.
The forum also stated that it has dropped all agitations over leadership positions in the party following the NEC meeting held on Wednesday. The meeting officially ratified the zoning of the party’s national chairmanship position to the North-West, solidifying Ganduje’s role.
Before this decision, the position was originally allocated to the North-Central. However, Ganduje, from Kano State in the North-West, was appointed APC National Chairman after the removal of former Nasarawa State governor, Abdullahi Adamu, before he could complete his tenure.
The North-Central APC Forum had earlier opposed this appointment and even took legal action to challenge Ganduje’s position. However, with the NEC’s recent decision, the forum has now decided to drop its opposition.

In a statement released on Thursday, the forum’s chairman, Saleh Zazzaga, confirmed that the group fully supports the NEC’s decisions.
“As loyal party members interested in the progress of the APC, we agree with all the decisions taken at the NEC meeting. We endorse the vote of confidence passed on President Bola Tinubu and the national chairman, Dr. Abdullahi Ganduje,” Zazzaga said.
He emphasized that the NEC, as the party’s highest decision-making body, had spoken, and the forum would respect its verdict.
“The NEC has passed a vote of confidence on the national chairman. We respect the decision of Mr. President and the NEC. As a result of that, we have decided to stop all agitations concerning the leadership and other issues in the APC,” he added.
The North-Central APC Forum also pledged to work with Ganduje in reconciling aggrieved party members and urged all APC stakeholders to support President Tinubu’s administration.
“We are urging all members of the party to support President Bola Tinubu and the national chairman, Dr. Abdullahi Ganduje,” Zazzaga stated.
The forum also expressed support for the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), Senator George Akume, recognizing him as the leader of the APC in the North-Central region.
“We recognize Senator Akume as our father in the North-Central. Having decided to stop all agitations, there is nothing left than to unite ourselves in the interest of the zone and to give massive support to President Bola Tinubu in all his policies and in future elections,” the statement added.
