Owodunni Ibrahim, popularly known as Primeboy, has taken legal action against Abosede Aloba, the mother of late singer Ilerioluwa Oladimeji Aloba, also known as Mohbad. He is suing her for N50 million, accusing her of making defamatory statements about him.
Mohbad passed away on September 12, 2023, and was buried the following day. However, following public outcry and suspicions surrounding his death, police exhumed his body on September 21, 2023, for an autopsy.
Primeboy, who was a childhood friend of the late singer, claims that Abosede falsely accused him of having an altercation with Mohbad before his death. In October 2024, he warned that he would take legal action if she did not retract her statements.

Now, he has followed through on his threat. In a court document shared on Instagram, Primeboy described Abosede’s remarks as “libelous, injurious, and malicious.” He is demanding N50 million in damages for what he believes was a deliberate attempt to tarnish his reputation.
“The sum of N50,000,000.00 (Fifty Million Naira only) being exemplary damages for libelous, injurious, falsehood and malicious statement made of and concerning the Claimant by the Defendant in a video interview made on the 28th of March, 2024 and published in several news media and online news outlets, designed to defame the Claimant in the eyes of right-thinking members of the society,” the court document reads in part.
Mother Given 42 Days to Respond
The legal notice further states that Abosede has 42 days from the date of service to respond to the lawsuit. If she fails to do so, the case may proceed in her absence.
“You are hereby commanded that within 42 (forty-two) days after the service of this Writ on you, inclusive of the day of such service, you do cause an appearance to be entered for you in an action at the suit of the Claimant,” the document states.
The case has sparked reactions from Mohbad’s fans, many of whom are still seeking justice for the late singer. Some believe Primeboy has a right to clear his name, while others see the lawsuit as an unnecessary distraction from the ongoing investigation into Mohbad’s death.
