Popular Nigerian singer Habeeb Okikiola, also known as Portable, appeared in court on Thursday in Abeokuta, Ogun State, over an alleged assault on government officials.
Portable surrendered to the Lagos State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) in Yaba on Wednesday after the Ogun State Police Command declared him wanted. The charges against him stem from an incident on February 5, 2025, when he allegedly led an attack on officials from the Ogun State Ministry of Physical Planning and Urban Development at his bar in Sango Ota.
According to reports, the officials were carrying out an enforcement exercise when Portable and his associates allegedly assaulted them. Several officials sustained injuries, and while nine of his associates were arrested at the scene, the singer managed to evade capture until now.

“The government will not tolerate lawlessness, no matter how famous the individual involved is,” a spokesperson for the Ogun State Government said.
