Nollywood actress Chika Ike has dismissed rumors linking Senator Ned Nwoko to the paternity of her unborn child. In a statement posted on her Instagram page on Tuesday, Ike made it clear that she is not carrying Nwoko’s baby and that she has no interest in becoming his seventh wife.
The actress said she had ignored several rumors about her personal life in the past but felt the need to address this particular speculation because it involved her child. “There have been all sorts of lies paddled about me in the media for years, but I always treated them like what they are—rumors that needed no response,” she wrote.
Ike emphasized that naming Nwoko as the father of her baby was nothing more than baseless speculation. “But this is different. This is about my child… You all do not know anything about me! Because you can’t! Except I choose to disclose. Yes, I’m that private! Ned isn’t the father of my child, and whoever name you might come up with later with your guessing games, and like I’ve said before, I’m not about to be anyone’s seventh wife! Polygamy isn’t for me,” she stated firmly.

The actress also expressed amusement at how secretive she had been about her pregnancy, saying, “I’ve been pregnant for months now, and no one even had a clue until I announced it. And you all think you’ll know who the father of my child is or anything happening in my life? Very laughable and clueless!”
Ike encouraged those spreading the false news to continue with their assumptions while she focused on enjoying her pregnancy.
The rumors about Ike and Nwoko intensified after his wife, Regina Daniels, deactivated her Instagram account, fueling public speculation. However, Nwoko has also denied the allegations. In a statement released on Monday by his Director of Communications and posted on his Instagram page, the senator dismissed the reports as “entirely baseless” and driven by malicious intent.
“Our attention has been drawn to the recent false rumors alleging that Senator Prince Ned Munir Nwoko is planning to marry Nollywood actress Chika Ike as his seventh wife and that she is pregnant for him. We categorically state that these claims are entirely baseless and a product of malicious speculation,” the statement read.
Despite the denials from both Ike and Nwoko, the rumors have continued to circulate on social media. However, Ike remains focused on her pregnancy and has made it clear that she will not be pressured into revealing details about her private life.
