Earlier on Wednesday, Portable had surrendered himself at the Lagos State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) in Yaba. Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer, Benjamin Hundeyin, confirmed that the Ogun police command was contacted to take custody of the singer.

His decision to surrender comes days after the police declared him wanted for allegedly assaulting three government officials in Ogun State. The victims—TPL Onabanjo Abidemi, TPL Raymond Lateef, and TPL Ridwan Oyero Akinlesi—are staff members of the Ogun State Ministry of Physical Planning and Urban Development, Ota Zonal Office.
According to reports, the officials were carrying out an enforcement exercise in Oke-Osa, Tigbo Ilu, Ota, when Portable and his associates allegedly attacked them.
Following the incident, police arrested nine of Portable’s associates and arraigned them before a Magistrates’ Court in Isabo on five counts, including felony, assault, and conduct likely to cause a breach of peace. Prosecutors said the suspects used cutlasses and guns during the attack. They, however, pleaded not guilty.
Meanwhile, Portable ignored police invitations regarding the case, leading the Ogun State Police Command to declare him wanted.
Portable’s Reaction to Being Wanted
Before surrendering, Portable spoke in multiple social media videos on Tuesday, describing himself as a “madman undergoing treatment” at the Federal Neuropsychiatric Hospital, Aro, Abeokuta. He also pleaded with Nigerians and the Ogun State Government to show him mercy.
“I beg Nigerians and the Ogun State Government to forgive me. I am a madman undergoing treatment,” he said in one of the videos.
This is not the first time Portable has been in trouble with the law. The singer, known for his controversial lifestyle, has had previous run-ins with security agencies, including past arrests for public disturbances.
