The Ogun State Police Command has declared controversial singer Habeeb Okikiola, popularly known as Portable, wanted for allegedly leading a violent attack on government officials performing their lawful duties.
In a statement released on Monday, the command’s spokesperson, Omolola Odutola, said Portable and a group of thugs attacked officials from the Ogun State Ministry of Physical Planning and Urban Development on February 5, 2025, in Ota, Ado-Odo/Ota Local Government Area.
Attack on Government Officials
According to Odutola, three officials from the ministry’s Ota Zonal Office—TPL Onabanjo Abidemi, TPL Raymond Lateef, and TPL Ridwan Oyero Akinlesi—were on an enforcement operation at Oke-Osa, Tigbo Ilu Ota, when they encountered an elderly man, later identified as Portable’s father, at Odogwu Bar.
The officials requested to see an approved building plan, but Portable’s father informed them that his son was not available. Moments later, Portable allegedly stormed the scene with a firearm and other weapons, leading a gang of nine men who launched a violent attack on the officials.
“The enforcement officers sustained various bodily injuries but managed to escape and reported the incident to the Ota Area Command, which later transferred the case to the State Criminal Investigation Department for further action,” Odutola stated.
Police arrested nine of Portable’s accomplices, but the singer reportedly fled the scene and has since gone into hiding.

Repeated Police Invitations Ignored
Odutola further revealed that the police sent multiple invitations to Portable, requesting his presence at the Ogun State Police Command Headquarters in Eleweran, Abeokuta. However, he ignored all requests and failed to provide legal representation.
“Following his repeated evasion, the Ogun State Police Command has obtained a valid court order declaring him wanted,” she said.
The police have urged the public to assist in locating Portable and warned that anyone found aiding or harboring him will face legal consequences.
“For any relevant information, kindly report to the nearest police station or contact the Ogun State Police Command through its official communication channels or the police public relations department,” Odutola advised.
Legal Action Against Portable’s Accomplices
Two weeks ago, police arraigned nine individuals linked to Portable before a Magistrate Court in Isabo, Abeokuta, for allegedly assaulting officers of the Ota Zonal Planning Office.
The suspects, identified as Nurudeen Warris, 21; Adetola Alashe, 25; Samuel Adeleke, 28; Oluwaseun Ayenuwa, 19; Oluwapelumi Adeosun, 20; Gospel Kanu, 20; Precious Ohiegebo, 19; Ifeoluwa Babatunde, 27; and Fatimo Muhammed, 26, were charged with felony, assault, use of weapons, and conduct likely to cause a breach of peace.
They pleaded not guilty and are currently facing legal proceedings.
Portable’s Troubled History with Law Enforcement
This is not the first time Portable has had issues with the authorities. The singer, known for his controversial lifestyle and social media outbursts, has previously been involved in altercations with security personnel.
With a court order now issued for his arrest, law enforcement agencies are intensifying efforts to apprehend him and ensure justice is served.
