The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has arrested a 75-year-old man, Nuhu Baba, for drug trafficking in Kano State. Baba was apprehended in Tumbau Village, Gezawa Local Government Area, during an anti-drug operation.
According to Sadiq Maigatari, the spokesperson for the NDLEA in Kano, the operation led to the recovery of several illegal substances, including Tramadol, Cannabis Sativa, Diazepam, Exol-5, and Rubber Solution.
“Upon investigation, Nuhu Baba confessed to the authorities that he had been engaged in this illicit trade for the past two years as a means of sustaining his livelihood,” Maigatari stated.
He noted that the case highlights how drug trafficking and abuse affect people of all ages, including the elderly.
Maigatari stressed the agency’s commitment to fighting drug-related crimes in Kano and across the country. He urged communities to actively support the war against drugs by reporting any suspicious activities.
