Miss Precious Essien, a 14-year-old student of Marygold International School in Calabar, has emerged as the winner of the prestigious Face of Teen Beauty Pageant International in Cross River State. Essien clinched the crown after outshining 14 other contestants in a contest described as a blend of beauty and intelligence.
The grand finale, held on Monday at the Conference Hall of Etaval Hotel, Calabar, was organized by Thelma Empire. It showcased the talents and confidence of teenagers in a highly competitive atmosphere.
Speaking shortly after her victory, Essien expressed her gratitude to God for granting her the strength to endure the challenges of the competition. “I thank God for the grace He gave me to withstand the rigour of the contest,” she said with excitement.
Essien, who hails from Essien Udim Local Government Area in Akwa Ibom State, shared her aspirations for the future. “I intend to study pediatric nursing at the university. I have a deep love for children and want to ensure they live long and healthy lives. This victory is just the beginning of my dreams,” she said.
Beyond her plans to contribute to society through healthcare, Essien revealed her ambitions to compete in more prestigious pageants. “My goal is to contest for bigger pageants like Miss Africa and return home with the crown. I know this big dream can be actualized if I work hard, just like the women from Venezuela, Brazil, Colombia, India, and the Netherlands who have achieved such heights,” she said.
Essien is no stranger to pageantry, having previously held the title of Miss NTA 2018. Her new title as the Queen of Face of Teen Beauty International adds another feather to her cap as she continues to inspire her peers.
The Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director of Thelma Empire, Thelma Eneji, highlighted the mission behind the pageant. “Our mission is to nurture and showcase the talents and potentials of teenagers globally, promoting self-confidence, cultural diversity, and social responsibility,” she said.
