Juris FC, the organizer of an ongoing national football scouting tournament, has teamed up with former Super Eagles coach Samson Siasia and renowned international football agent Marcelo Houseman to discover and develop young football talents in Nigeria. This collaboration also aims to foster unity by bringing young players together from various regions of the country, along with a team from the Nigerian military.
The talent hunt has attracted six teams from different parts of Nigeria, including the Shooting Stars of Ibadan feeder team, SiaOne Football Academy, Galadima FC, the Guards Brigade team, Phoenix FC, and Unique Stars FC. Niyi Daniels, a football lawyer and the founder of Juris FC, is the driving force behind the academy, which he established to help aspiring young players pursue their dreams of becoming professional football stars.
Daniels explained that working with Siasia, a former player and coach for the Nigerian national team, would help nurture and train the players, while Marcelo Houseman’s involvement would open international doors. “The partnership with Coach Siasia will help us train and develop young talents,” Daniels said. “Bringing in a renowned agent like Marcelo Houseman means we’re creating a strong path for these players to reach greater heights.”
The program isn’t just about football, however. Daniels highlighted the importance of national unity and social cohesion that the event promotes. “We invited young stars from different parts of the country, in the spirit of national unity,” he said. “We also included the young team from the Guards Brigade, allowing these young civilians to interact with the Nigerian military. This tournament is about more than just football – it’s about bringing people together and creating harmony within both the civilian and military communities.”
To further enhance the scouting process, Juris FC enlisted Houseman, an experienced agent with a global reputation for identifying promising talent. “Houseman is an Argentine who has shown great love for Nigeria,” Daniels added. “His expertise in talent scouting is recognized worldwide, and he has already contributed to the development of young Nigerian players over the years. We wanted him here because his knowledge is invaluable for the future of these players.”
