Popular social media figure, VeryDarkMan, has made a significant impact with the launch of his new Non-Governmental Organization (NGO) focused on community development and the improvement of public schools. Within just 24 hours of announcing the initiative, the controversial activist received over N33 million in donations from supporters across the country.
VeryDarkMan, known for his active presence on social media, made the announcement on Saturday through a video and post on his Instagram account, @verydarkblackman. He called on his followers, friends, and fellow social media influencers to support the new venture, emphasizing a commitment to transparency and accountability in handling the funds.
He reached out directly to notable figures, writing, “@davido you don ask my for my account details before @cubana_chiefpriest you have told me to ask you for help anytime. Today is that time. To those of you in my DMs asking for my account details to support me, today is the day. To the ones when I help collect money wey been wan pay me, today is the day.”
VeryDarkMan promised to maintain full transparency throughout the fundraising process. “I will be very transparent. I will post the money that was contributed online for everyone to see, and I will carry everyone along. Every money will be well accounted for,” he stated, adding that no donation was too small and encouraging contributions as low as five naira.
In a follow-up post on Sunday, the activist revealed that the fundraising efforts had already exceeded N33 million, sharing a screenshot to showcase the outpouring of support. He expressed gratitude to his supporters, particularly acknowledging those who donated smaller amounts, which made up the bulk of the contributions.
“Barely 24 hours since I announced my NGO, if I tell you how much is in that account now, you would not believe it,” he wrote. “First of all, shout out to all the people who have sent money, shout out to the people sending money. God will bless you.”

He highlighted the significance of the donations, noting that most contributions were under N500, demonstrating the widespread support he received even from individuals facing financial challenges. “I saw the massive love and support when I started seeing amounts like N72, N100, N22, N50, N500. To be very honest, most of the money that was contributed was from N500 naira down. It means most of these people no get, but they want to support me. The love is massive,” he added.
The swift success of the fundraising has drawn attention to VeryDarkMan’s new NGO, which aims to make a difference in local communities through development projects and support for public schools. He has promised to keep his supporters informed about the organization’s activities and the use of the funds raised.
The launch of the NGO and the overwhelming response comes on the heels of recent controversies surrounding VeryDarkMan. In the past weeks, he had been involved in a public feud with Idris Okuneye, popularly known as Bobrisky, over allegations of bribery and corruption. Despite this, his latest initiative has garnered a wave of positive reactions from his followers and those looking to support community-focused projects.
With over N33 million raised in a day, the social media activist is preparing to move forward with his mission of fostering community development, while maintaining the transparency he has pledged.
