Popular Nigerian TikToker Ojesanmi Afeez, widely known as Salo, is in critical condition after being robbed and shot in the Lekki area of Lagos State. The incident took place late Thursday night, and Salo is currently receiving treatment at Perez Medcare Hospital in Lekki Phase 2.
The shocking news was first shared by fellow TikToker Tunde Perry, who frequently collaborates with Salo in live streams on the app. According to Perry, Salo was shot in the leg by assailants who stole his gold chain at a filling station in Lekki.
“They have shot Salo in the leg. They have also stolen his gold chain at one filling station in Lekki,” Perry said. “Some boys rushed him to the hospital, and I have gone there now.”
A viral video circulating online shows Salo’s white AMG GLE 43 Mercedes Benz car stained with blood, with a bullet casing on the driver’s seat, further confirming the severity of the attack.
An eyewitness at the scene, who wished to remain anonymous, described Salo’s condition as critical. “When I got to the hospital, I was not allowed to enter. The nurse just said we should keep praying for him because his condition is critical,” the eyewitness revealed. “We don’t know who he offended, and he might not even know either. I just advise him to be careful if he survives this.”

Before the attack, Salo had expressed concerns about his safety. In a video shared online, he was seen pleading with his manager, identified as Sula, to provide him with security. “Sula, please provide me with security. I ought to have had. Help me with one mopol, Sula, my daddy,” Salo was heard shouting, referring to a mobile police officer.
Salo’s request for security came shortly after a public disagreement with fellow TikToker, Tobi Nation. The two had a fallout after Tobi Nation purchased a new apartment in Lekki. Salo claimed he had connected Tobi Nation to the agent who sold him the property, but Tobi Nation denied the claim, stating he didn’t agree with the payment plan suggested by Salo.
In response to the attack, Tobi Nation expressed his sadness, saying, “It’s really sad to hear this. I visited the hospital, but I wasn’t allowed in.”
The Lagos State Police have confirmed the attack. Speaking to reporters on Friday, Police Public Relations Officer Benjamin Hundeyin said, “Salo was truly shot yesterday at Admiralty Way, Lekki. We have begun an investigation into the incident, and I will give further updates.”
