A family of four, including a couple and their two children, has been arrested by the Ondo State Security Network Agency, known as Amotekun Corps, for allegedly stealing bags of rice from an orphanage in Akure, the state capital. The family members, identified as Agbor and Mary John, along with their children, were caught in connection with the theft and other housebreaking incidents.
The arrest was announced on Friday by the commander of Amotekun Corps, Adetunji Adeleye, during a parade of suspects at the agency’s headquarters in Akure. Adeleye revealed that the family had been involved in various criminal activities, including breaking into homes and stealing.
“We have arrested about 68 criminals, out of which we are parading only 20 today. Among those arrested are three minors, who are part of a family of husband, wife, and children that specialize in housebreaking and stealing,” Adeleye said.

Adeleye further explained that, due to their ages, the children, who are between 12 and 15 years old, would not be paraded publicly. He emphasized the importance of protecting the identities of minors involved in criminal cases.
In addition to the family’s arrest, the Amotekun Corps also apprehended 68 other suspects across Ondo State for various crimes. These include theft, housebreaking, and kidnapping.
One of the most notable arrests involved a kidnapping suspect, Usman Abubakar, who was caught at the scene while attempting to collect a ransom of N2 million from the family of his victims. Adeleye highlighted the agency’s success in thwarting the kidnapping operation and securing the suspect’s arrest.
This wave of arrests, according to Adeleye, demonstrates the ongoing efforts of the Amotekun Corps to maintain law and order across Ondo State. He assured residents that the agency remains committed to tackling crime and protecting the community from criminal activities.
