The Nigerian Army has officially begun recruitment for its 88th batch of regular recruits, inviting young Nigerians to apply and serve their country. Application Process and Deadlines
Interested candidates must complete their online registration by November 8, 2024. Once the application period ends, the names of shortlisted candidates will be published on the Nigerian Army’s official website. Successful applicants will then attend screening exercises in their states of origin between December 5 and December 19, 2024.
Candidates must print and complete the Guarantor Form, which, along with the registration form, must be signed and presented at designated recruitment centers during screening.
Eligibility Requirements
To apply, candidates must meet the following criteria:
- Be a Nigerian citizen by birth, with a National Identity Card or NIN slip, and a valid Bank Verification Number (BVN).
- Be medically, physically, and mentally fit, with no criminal record.
- Non-tradespeople must be between 18 and 22 years old, while tradespeople must be between 18 and 26 years old by December 31, 2024.
- Male candidates must be at least 1.68 meters tall, and female candidates must be at least 1.65 meters tall.
- Applicants must have a minimum of four passes, including English Language, in WASSCE, GCE, NECO, or NABTEB across no more than two sittings. Tradespeople must also have a Trade Test or City Guild Certificate.

All screenings will take place in candidates’ respective states of origin—no zonal screening or special recruitment centers will be used. Applicants must bring original copies of their educational certificates and are prohibited from bringing electronic devices to the recruitment venue.
The Army will disqualify candidates with tattoos or bodily inscriptions, though swimming skills may give an applicant an advantage. Furthermore, the Nigerian Army has issued a stern warning against bribery during the recruitment process, urging candidates not to offer inducements.
