The National Examinations Council (NECO) has officially released the 2024 Senior Secondary Certificate Examination (SSCE) internal results. This announcement was made by NECO’s Registrar and Chief Executive, Professor Dantani Wushishi, during a press briefing in Minna on Thursday, September 19.
Wushishi revealed that 21 supervisors across 12 states have been blacklisted for their involvement in various forms of malpractice, including poor supervision, aiding cheating, absconding from duties, extortion, drunkenness, and negligence. He also disclosed that one school in Ekiti State was de-recognized for mass cheating in two core subjects and one science subject.
“Forty schools were found to have been involved in whole-school mass cheating in 17 states,” Wushishi stated. He added that these schools will be called in for discussions with the council, after which appropriate sanctions will be imposed.
The release of the 2024 results marks a critical moment in NECO’s effort to maintain integrity in the examination process and hold accountable those involved in malpractice.
