The Nigerian Army has killed two terrorists and recovered weapons during a successful military operation in Kaduna State. Acting on credible intelligence, troops launched an ambush against the terrorists along the Birnin Gwari-Manini axis, leading to a fierce gun battle.
The ambush, which took place in the Kwaga village area of Birnin Gwari Local Government, resulted in a firefight between the soldiers and the terrorists. According to a post shared on X by the Army on Monday, the troops quickly overpowered the terrorists, killing two of them while others fled.
“The Nigerian Army continues to demonstrate its resolve to dismantle terrorist networks across various theatres of operations, delivering heavy blows to the fleeing villains,” the Army said. “In the latest encounter, troops successfully expunged and destabilised terrorists attempting to escape military action, aborting their mission and putting them on the run.”
During the operation, the troops recovered weapons and equipment from the terrorists, including two AK-47 rifles, three rifle magazines, a Baofeng radio, and three motorcycles that the terrorists had been using for transportation.
The Army expressed its commitment to eradicating terrorism in the country, reassuring citizens of their safety. “Troops are still on the trail of the wounded terrorists,” the post added, emphasizing that the military remains determined to rid the nation of terror.
This latest success is part of ongoing military efforts to combat terrorism in Nigeria, particularly in the northwestern region, where terrorist activities have escalated in recent years. The Nigerian Army has vowed to continue its aggressive operations to eliminate these threats and restore peace to the affected areas.
