Renowned American singer and actress Lady Gaga recently shared her heartfelt thoughts on finding love after years of fearing she would remain single due to the overwhelming nature of her fame.
The 38-year-old star, who recently announced her engagement to her boyfriend, Michael Polansky, admitted that she once believed she would have to face life alone.
In a candid interview with Vogue, Gaga expressed relief and joy at no longer being single. “I kind of thought I was going to have to do this all by myself—forever. And that was really scary,” she revealed.
Gaga stated, “Because it’s a big life. And I don’t think anyone really knows what it feels like unless you’re in it. And I don’t have to do this alone anymore.”
Lady Gaga, whose real name is Stefani Germanotta, described Polansky as a “totally supportive, loving human being” who was interested in getting to know her beyond her celebrity persona. She reflected on how her career had dominated her life since she was a teenager, leaving little room for personal relationships.
She explained, “I’d been so focused on my career since I was a teenager. And the gift of that time was that I got to completely focus on my relationship.
“I met this totally supportive, loving human being who wanted to get to know me—outside of Lady Gaga.”
Interestingly, it was Gaga’s mother who played a pivotal role in bringing the couple together. Gaga revealed that her mom, after meeting Polansky, confidently told her that she had found the perfect husband for her.
Gaga recalled with a laugh, “My mom met him and she said to me, ‘I think I just met your husband,’ and I said, ‘I’m not ready to meet my husband! I could never have imagined that my mom…found the most perfect person for me?”
Gaga and Polansky’s relationship first became public when the couple was spotted together at a New Year’s Eve party in Las Vegas in 2019. A few months later, they confirmed their relationship on Instagram. However, like many couples, they faced challenges. In early 2023, rumors of a temporary separation surfaced, but by August that year, they were seen together again, suggesting they had reconciled.
The couple’s bond has grown stronger over time, with Gaga confirming her engagement to Polansky during a conversation with French Prime Minister Gabriel Attal at the Paris Olympics in July. The engagement marks a significant moment in Gaga’s life, as she celebrates not only her career achievements but also the love and support she has found in Polansky.
In March this year, Gaga and Polansky celebrated her 38th birthday with a close group of friends at the upscale California restaurant Giorgio Baldi, further solidifying their relationship.
Lady Gaga’s journey from fearing a life of solitude to finding a partner who truly understands and supports her is a testament to the unpredictability of life and love. As she continues to thrive in her career and personal life, Gaga’s story offers hope and inspiration to those who may also feel that love is out of reach.
