The Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND) has issued an important announcement for students regarding the recent disbursement of student loans. The notice specifically addresses students from six universities who had applied for loans between May 24th and July 17th, 2024, and have had their applications approved.
The six institutions involved in the current disbursement cycle are Bayero University Kano, University of Ilorin, University of Benin, University of Ibadan, University of Maiduguri, and Federal University Dutsinma. Students from these universities are advised to visit their respective institutions promptly to confirm that their tuition fees have been credited to the university’s account.
“NELFUND is carrying out the disbursement of loans in batches. Students who applied after the current disbursement window will have their loans processed and disbursed in subsequent batches. We assure all students that every approved loan will be disbursed transparently and in a timely manner,” the announcement stated.
The loan fund also addressed students from other institutions who were not part of the current disbursement cycle but have had their loans approved. These students are encouraged to be patient, as their loans will be included in the upcoming batches.
“We remain committed to ensuring that every eligible student receives their funds,” the statement emphasized.
In addition, NELFUND urged all students to regularly log in to their NELFUND portal to check the status of their loan applications and to stay informed about the disbursement process.
