Man Steals Friend’s Motorcycle from Abuja Drinking Joint

A man stole his friend’s motorcycle after the friend dozed off at a drinking joint in the Paso community of Gwagwalada Area Council, FCT, on Sunday night.

Emmanuel Musa, a resident of the community, described the incident, which happened around 9 PM. “The victim, known only as Zakka, was drinking wine when the suspect joined him at the joint,” Musa said. “After about 20 minutes, Zakka fell asleep, and the suspect took his motorcycle key and drove away.”

Musa noted that other people at the joint saw the two men together before the suspect took off with the motorcycle. “Some people who were drinking at the joint saw them together until after about 20 minutes when the man reportedly took away the motorcycle and left,” he said.

Suspicion arose that the suspect might have drugged Zakka’s drink. “I suspect the man who escaped with the motorcycle must have poured some substances inside the drink which made the man sleep off,” Musa added.

Local vigilantes are currently tracking the suspect. The FCT Police Command spokeswoman, SP Adeh Josephine, has not yet commented on the incident.
