The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) has announced a new condition for polytechnic and monotechnic graduates. Graduates must provide evidence of completing the mandatory one-year Industrial Training (IT) before they can participate in the national service program.
NYSC Lagos State Coordinator, Yetunde Baderinwa, shared this update during an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Saturday in Lagos.
Baderinwa emphasized the importance of this requirement, stating, “The one-year IT is a prerequisite for HND. They must undergo the one-year IT with evidence of completion before going for HND, and institutions must confirm this before admitting them for HND.”

She noted that this new directive would be effective from the next orientation camp, warning, “We will not register any candidate who did not complete or undergo the process.”
The measure aims to uphold the integrity of Nigeria’s education system. “This will promote the sanctity of Nigeria’s education system,” Baderinwa added.
Going forward, HND graduates must present proof of their IT completion when registering at any NYSC orientation camp.
