The Police Service Commission (PSC) has approved the promotion of 7,194 Police Inspectors to the rank of Assistant Superintendents of Police (ASP 11). This decision follows the recently concluded Inspectors Board interview held at police zonal command headquarters across Nigeria.
DIG Hashimu Argungu (retired), Chairman of the PSC, congratulated the newly promoted officers and emphasized their increased responsibility to national duty.
“Your new ranks impose on you a burden of greater commitment to national duty,” Argungu stated.
He noted that the promotion is timely, aimed at motivating the officers to excel in their service to the country.
Argungu acknowledged Nigeria’s current restructuring efforts, which, though challenging, require the officers’ dedication to preserving the nation’s democracy. He assured that the PSC will continue to ensure timely and predictable promotions within the Nigeria Police Force.
“This gesture should not be taken for granted. Officers must conduct themselves within established laws and work towards eliminating banditry and terrorism,” he added.
