The Lagos State Police Command has arrested three domestic workers following the discovery of Aribemchukwu, the daughter of Justice Rita Ofili-Ajumogobia, found dead outside her Park View Estate home in Ikoyi on Wednesday.
Benjamin Hundeyin, the state Police Public Relations Officer, confirmed the arrests and stated that the case is now being handled by the State Criminal Investigation Department.
A family source, who chose to remain anonymous, revealed on social media that the incident likely occurred on Tuesday night, with Aribemchukwu’s body discovered early Wednesday morning. The source indicated that signs of an attempted cleanup of blood inside the house suggested foul play.
“It would appear that the new household staff might have been responsible and tried to stage as if she was outside when it happened. We all need to be super careful, especially with new hires,” the source wrote.

Hundeyin assured the public that an investigation is underway. “Confirmed. Three domestic staff have been arrested,” he said.
Justice Ajumogobia previously faced legal challenges, having been prosecuted by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission in 2016 on charges of money laundering and breach of public trust.
However, in 2021, the charges were dismissed, and in 2022, the National Judicial Council ordered her reinstatement as a judge.
