Bandits killed two people and abducted 20 in Tsamaye community, Sabon Birni Local Government Area of Sokoto State on Tuesday morning. Among the kidnapped were 18 women.
Aminu Boza, a representative for Sabon Birni South constituency in the state House of Assembly, confirmed the incident. “They attacked the community in the night, killed two persons and injured one who is currently receiving treatment. They kidnapped 20 persons, including 18 women,” Boza said.

Boza criticized the federal government’s approach to handling bandits in the northwest. “The federal government prefers negotiation and this is not working. The only thing they [terrorists] fear is war,” he stated. “If you negotiate with them, they will not surrender their guns. They will leave their boys behind to continue terrorizing innocent people. So the government should review its strategy and launch a full-pledged war on them.”
In response to the recent attacks, Governor Ahmed Aliyu has called for an emergency security meeting to address the growing insecurity in the area and other parts of the state.
