The West African Examinations Council (WAEC) has announced that the results for the 2024 West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) will be released on August 5, 2024.
Students across the West African region have been eagerly awaiting their results, which will be available online and through designated WAEC offices.
In an official statement, WAEC acknowledged the anticipation among candidates who took the exams earlier this year. “WAEC has officially announced that the WAEC 2024 results will be out on Monday, August 5, 2024,” the announcement read.

The council also addressed the delay in releasing the results, attributing it to certain challenges. “While apologising for the delay, WAEC has assured all candidates who participated in the examination that 99.5% of the SSCE results are ready and will be available online soon,” the statement continued.
Efforts by PUNCH Online to confirm this information with Dr. Amos Dangut, the Head of WAEC’s Nigeria Office in Lagos, were unsuccessful. However, a source from the WAEC Office in Kwara State confirmed the announcement. “This is true. A statement should be up on the website and social media handle any moment from now,” the source said.
The release of the results will mark the end of a tense waiting period for the candidates and provide them with the information they need to take their next steps in education and career planning.
