Former President Donald Trump has warned that there will be major conflicts in the Middle East and potentially a third world war if he does not win the upcoming November election.
Trump made these remarks during a meeting with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu at his Mar-a-Lago estate in Florida.
“If we win, it’ll be very simple. It’s all going to work out and very quickly,” Trump told reporters. “If we don’t, you’re going to end up with major wars in the Middle East and maybe a third world war. You are closer to a third world war right now than at any time since the second world war. You’ve never been so close, because we have incompetent people running our country.”
This meeting came just one day after Netanyahu met with President Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris at the White House. During her meeting with Netanyahu, Harris stated, “Israel has a right to defend itself,” but also expressed “serious concern” about the suffering of Palestinians in Gaza.
Trump criticized the current administration, suggesting that the world is on the brink of another world war due to conflicts in the Middle East and Russia’s invasion of Ukraine. He has made similar predictions in the past, including claims that the stock market would crash if he does not regain the presidency.
The meeting between Trump and Netanyahu occurred amidst significant changes in the presidential campaign. President Biden announced that he would not seek reelection and endorsed Harris as the Democratic nominee. Harris has quickly gained support among Democrats and is expected to be the party’s candidate for the November election.

Trump has previously been critical of Netanyahu since the October 7 attacks on Israel, which resulted in over 1,100 deaths and subsequent fighting in Gaza that has killed tens of thousands of Palestinians. However, Trump emphasized his support for Israel, highlighting his administration’s actions, such as moving the U.S. Embassy to Jerusalem and withdrawing from the Iran nuclear deal.
“We’ve had a good relationship. I was very good to Israel, better than any president’s ever been,” Trump said.
The Biden administration has expressed optimism about reaching a cease-fire deal and the release of hostages held by Hamas. Trump, however, described the situation as “not acceptable” and insisted that the hostages must be released immediately. “They have to be given back immediately because there can be no way they’re in good shape,” he said.
