In the early hours of Monday, gunmen abducted five residents of Yangoji in the Kwali area council of the Federal Capital Territory and shot an All Progressives Congress (APC) chieftain, Alhaji Musa Majaga.
A resident named Abdullahi reported that the kidnappers invaded Majaga’s house around 12:23 am. “They destroyed the burglary windows, entered his room, and shot him. Then they abducted two of his children,” he said. The kidnappers also took three other neighbors from another apartment.

A vigilante member explained that the kidnappers exploited the lack of ammunition among local vigilantes. “They knew we were short of cartridges and took advantage of that. We haven’t had any kidnapping incidents in the past five months,” he noted.
The APC chieftain, who was shot in the leg, is receiving treatment at a private hospital in Gwagwalada.
The FCT Police Command’s spokesperson, SP Adeh Josephine, has been informed about the incident and is investigating.
