Tinubu Makes New Appointments of DGs for PENCOM, ICRC, NPC, and Other Agencies

President Bola Tinubu has made significant new appointments for various government agencies, including the National Pension Commission (PENCOM), Infrastructure Concession Regulatory Commission (ICRC), National Agricultural Land Development Authority (NALDA), and the Code of Conduct Tribunal (CCT).

This move is part of his administration’s strategy to enhance the efficiency and performance of key public institutions.

In separate statements issued by presidential spokesman Chief Ajuri Ngelale, the appointments are effective immediately

Key Appointments

National Pension Commission (PENCOM)

Ms. Omolola Bridget Oloworaran has been appointed as the new Director-General of PENCOM. With extensive experience in finance and banking, her appointment is pending confirmation by the Nigerian Senate. The President expects her to lead PENCOM with a goal-oriented approach, driving efficiency and superior performance in regulating Nigeria’s pension industry.

Infrastructure Concession Regulatory Commission (ICRC)

Mr. Jobson Ewalefoh is the new Director-General of ICRC. He brings a wealth of experience from government and development organizations, specializing in public-private partnerships and public policy reform. His appointment also awaits Senate confirmation. President Tinubu anticipates that Mr. Ewalefoh will demonstrate absolute dedication and integrity, particularly in accelerating investment in national infrastructure through innovative private-sector funding mobilization.

National Agricultural Land Development Authority (NALDA)

Mr. Cornelius Oluwasegun Adebayo has been named the new Executive Secretary/Chief Executive Officer of NALDA. An engineer with expertise in community and social development, Mr. Adebayo is expected to leverage his skills to support and drive the growth and sustainability of Nigeria’s agricultural sector.

Code of Conduct Tribunal (CCT)

Dr. Mainasara Umar Kogo is appointed as the Chairman of the CCT. A seasoned lawyer and analyst in law, security, economy, politics, and international diplomacy, Dr. Kogo is tasked with upholding professionalism, integrity, and fidelity to the nation in his new role.

Other Appointments

National Agency for the Great Green Wall (NAGGW)

Mr. Saleh Abubakar is the new Director-General of NAGGW. With decades of experience in public administration, Mr. Abubakar is expected to diligently drive the agency’s mandate of combating land degradation, enhancing food security, and building resilience to climate change through sustainable interventions and education.

Nigeria Hydrological Services Agency (NHSA)

Mr. Umar Ibrahim Mohammed is appointed as the new Director-General of NHSA. An architect with a background in construction technology and environment, Mr. Mohammed is anticipated to improve the agency’s operations in maintaining hydrological stations and conducting groundwater exploration and monitoring.

Fund for Social Protection

Mrs. Mojisolaoluwa Kehinde Alli-Macaulay has been appointed as the Executive Director (Operations) of the Fund. A former lawmaker and Chairperson of the Lagos State House of Assembly Committee on Women Affairs, Poverty Alleviation, and Job Creation, Mrs. Alli-Macaulay is expected to help reposition the NSITF for enhanced social protection and quality service delivery to Nigerians.

Expectations

President Tinubu expressed high expectations for the new appointees. He emphasized the need for goal-oriented leadership, professionalism, and dedication across these pivotal agencies. The President’s spokesman, Chief Ajuri Ngelale, noted that these appointments aim to foster efficient service delivery and drive significant improvements in each sector.
