Saint Academy, Jos (Collapsed classroom building)
A two-story building at Saints Academy in Busa Buji, Jos North, collapsed on Friday morning, causing chaos and panic. Over 70 students and teachers were trapped under the rubble.
Residents and emergency workers rushed to the scene to help. Witnesses described the desperate efforts to rescue those trapped. So far, 12 people have died, and many others are injured.
Our Lady of Apostles Hospital is treating 26 injured people, while four bodies are in its mortuary. Bingham Hospital has received seven bodies and is treating 16 injured. The Plateau Specialist Hospital is caring for 34 injured, with two having spinal cord injuries.

Rescue operations continue with the help of the Joint Security Task Force, which has mobilized five vans and 30 soldiers. Volunteers, security personnel, and Red Cross members are using excavators to search for more victims.
“The scene is heartbreaking, with sirens wailing and parents desperate for news of their children,” a witness said. The exact number of casualties is still unknown.
