Bandits have released the children of Judge Janet Gimba in Kaduna after holding them captive for 15 days. It is unclear whether the demanded ransom of N150 million was paid.
The Kaduna Branch of the Nigerian Bar Association’s Chairman, Godwin Ochai, confirmed their release on Tuesday. Ochai expressed gratitude, saying, “We thank God and everyone who stood by the family throughout this trying time.”
Details of their release remain sketchy. However, the police confirmed that the bandits killed the judge’s 14-year-old son, Victor. His body was found at Ungwan Bayero, Duste village along the Kaduna-Abuja Expressway on July 2, 2024.
