In a coordinated effort, Nigerian army troops, police officers, and local vigilantes successfully thwarted an attack by bandits in Kofar Jange, a district in the city of Gusau. The incident, which occurred on Sunday night, resulted in the deaths of two security officers and the abduction of one individual.
Intelligence sources revealed that the bandits launched a surprise attack, creating chaos and fear among the residents.
“The attackers stormed the town on motorcycles, shooting sporadically,” an intelligence source said.
Security forces swiftly responded to the assault, engaging the bandits in a fierce confrontation. Despite their quick actions, the attack led to casualties among the security personnel.
“Unfortunately, two security men paid the supreme price while one other person was abducted,” the source added.
