Lagos State University (LASU) has announced that candidates seeking admission must score at least 195 marks in the recent Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME). This cut-off mark is the same as last year’s.
Admission to LASU might be more competitive this year because the university is the third-most subscribed in this year’s UTME. One reason for this high subscription is LASU’s lower fees compared to many state and federal universities.

While many universities have increased their fees, forcing students to pay three or four times more than before, LASU has maintained more affordable fees. Regular students pay about N69,000, while those combining entrepreneurship with their studies pay about N150,000, still below the average fee range in most other universities.
In addition to the general admission process, LASU has started a special admission process for the biological children of university staff. This initiative aims to give priority to children of both teaching and non-teaching staff.
The competitive admission process and affordable fee structure make LASU a popular choice for many students.
