The National Examinations Council (NECO) has embarked on a significant digital transformation by introducing an online recruitment process for Examination Supervisors and Assistant Supervisors for both the Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) and the Senior School Certificate Examination (SSCE) Internal and External.
The move towards digitization aims to curb irregularities in the recruitment process while enhancing efficiency and effective service delivery. According to a press statement by the Acting Director of Information and Digital Communication, Azeez Sani, the digitization process marks a shift from manual recruitment to an online system.
This digital transition ensures that Supervisor Nomination forms, Appointment Letters, and Supervisor e-Photo Albums are all generated online, streamlining the administrative procedures involved.
One of the key benefits of this digitalization is the elimination of the routine swapping of Supervisors and Assistant Supervisors during examinations. This process, as outlined in the press statement, will now be conducted online, contributing to a smoother and more organized examination administration.
In response to the digitization initiative, Azeez Sani emphasized, “Interested qualified Teachers with NCE, Degree Certificate, Master Degrees, PhD, and Professors are eligible to apply as Supervisors and Assistant Supervisors for BECE or SSCE Internal or External.”
This move by NECO signifies a progressive step towards leveraging technology to enhance the integrity and efficiency of its examination processes. By embracing digital solutions, the council aims to uphold standards while ensuring a transparent and merit-based recruitment process for examination supervisors.
