A tragic incident unfolded in the Ambe community of Sanga Local Government Area, Kaduna State, on Sunday night as bandits launched a deadly attack, resulting in the loss of six lives. The assailants struck with impunity, leaving a trail of devastation in their wake.
Confirming the incident, Mansir Hassan, spokesman of the Kaduna State Police Command, disclosed that one suspect has been apprehended in connection with the attack. Responding swiftly to a distress call, police operatives from Sanga Divisional Police Station and troops of Operation Safe Haven engaged the bandits in a fierce gun battle.
During the confrontation, one of the assailants was captured, while the others managed to evade arrest, fleeing into the forest with gunshot wounds. The joint efforts of law enforcement agencies emphasized their commitment to restoring peace and security in the region amidst the escalating threat posed by banditry.
In the aftermath of the attack, Daniel Amos, the member representing Jema’a/Sanga Federal Constituency, condemned the act of violence that claimed the lives of six individuals and left eight others injured. Expressing solidarity with the affected community, Amos urged residents to remain calm and united in the face of adversity.
“We must continue to promote peaceful coexistence among our diverse communities, irrespective of our differences,” remarked the federal lawmaker.
Amos called upon security agencies to expedite efforts in apprehending the perpetrators of the heinous attack, stressing the paramount importance of ensuring the safety and well-being of all citizens. As a representative in the National Assembly, he pledged to collaborate with relevant stakeholders to address the root causes of insecurity and foster sustainable solutions.
Amos said, “I also call on the security agencies to act swiftly to apprehend the perpetrators of this evil act and bring them to justice. The safety of our people must remain a top priority. We cannot allow the criminals to continue to operate with impunity.
“As your representative in the National Assembly, I assure you that I will continue to do my best to attract development to our constituency while working with relevant stakeholders to ensure the safety of our people.
“Finally, I extend my heartfelt condolences to the families of those who lost their loved ones, Arak chiefdom, Sanga Local Government Area, and the government of our dear State. I also pray for a speedy recovery of those who sustained injuries”.
