Justice Abimbola Awogboro of the Federal High Court in Lagos has handed down a six-month jail sentence without the option of fine to celebrity transgender, Idris Okuneye, famously known as Bobrisky.
The conviction of Bobrisky stems from charges of abusing and mutilating Naira notes, following his arrest and subsequent arraignment by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).
The sentencing comes after Bobrisky pleaded guilty to a four-count charge of tampering with N490,000 by spraying, as brought against him by the EFCC. The court set the sentencing date after Bobrisky admitted to the charges during his trial.
